Printing Tips for Sunny Jar Events Printables & Invitations
Recommended Paper Types
For best results, print on bright white cardstock.
Paper weight recommendations:
- 80–100 lb cardstock (ideal for invitations, signs, banners, and decor)
- 65 lb cardstock (lighter printables or flyers)
Finish options:
- Matte cardstock – Easy to read, minimal glare
- Smooth cardstock – Best for bold colors and clean designs
Avoid textured paper unless noted on the product listing.
Printer Settings (Most Important Step!)
Before printing, check your printer settings:
- Paper Type: Cardstock / Heavyweight
- Print Quality: High or Best
- Scale: 100%
- Turn OFF “Fit to Page”
- Select Actual Size
These settings ensure your printable is the correct size and looks sharp.
Inkjet vs. Laser Printers
Inkjet Printers
- Best for watercolor and soft designs
- Use inkjet-compatible cardstock
- Let prints dry fully before stacking
Laser Printers
- Great for bold text and clean graphics
- Colors may appear slightly flatter
- Use laser-safe cardstock only
Always Do a Test Print
Print one test page first to:
- Confirm sizing
- Check colors
- Adjust printer settings if needed
Cutting & Trimming Tips
For clean edges:
- Use a paper trimmer or rotary cutter
- Avoid scissors when possible
- Cut slowly for straight lines
For circles (cupcake toppers): a 2-inch circle punch works great.
Using a Print Shop
You may print your files at:
- Local print shops
- Office supply stores
- Online printing services
Upload the PDF file and request printing at actual size on cardstock.
